Whether your passion is on land or water, Prince George has something for everyone.
There are miles of hiking and biking trails for the experienced thrill seeker down to the little ones just learning ride. Following the trails through the city will lead you to many of our landscaped parks with incredible views and picnic areas to enjoy a snack.
Paddling adventures await the water-loving enthusiasts. Many lakes, only a short drive away, will make you feel like you are much further from a metropolis than you really are. A number of these lakes are also prime locations to teach someone the art of fishing from the shore or a wharf.

Cultural interpretation centers and museums are always a great learning experience for young and old alike. The Exploration Center provides an opportunity to see fish, snakes, turtles, dinosaur skeleton replicas, and a variety of taxidermy wildlife. The Railroad and Forestry Museum is also located in town. They went hand in hand as each needed the other to succeed.
If you like to day trip; Hubble Farm is a short drive from town. It transports guests on an adventure back over 100 years ago when life was very basic and survival skills were essential.
Other day trips include the Fort St James National Historic Site with the largest group of original log buildings representing the fur trade in Canada.
The Ancient Forest leaves one questioning just how old the biggest tree really is! The trail through this unique ecosystem is all boardwalk to protect the sensitive foliage that thrives under the canopy of the giant red cedars.
